Patient Stories

"I think back to what a difficult decision it was to make at the time and am so thankful we met with you. There were so many physicians that were telling us it was the wrong thing to do, we were doing it for ourselves or that Kelsey could die on the operating table! I have seen older children and teens who have hemangiomas like Kelsey’s on their faces who are timid and avoid eye contact. I want to hug them and tell them they are beautiful. They have already been emotionally affected by people’s reactions to their appearance and it does not have to be that way. Kelsey is a normal teenager living an active teen life. She is not worrying about this thing on her face that causes people to stare and ask embarrassing questions. We are very blessed."

When Ryan was born [in Lebanon], the pediatrician came and told me and his father that our baby boy was born with a cleft lip/palate. My heart sank to the floor, I thought how could this happen? What did I do wrong? Every night my husband would sit on the internet to make researches about his son’s situation and look for doctors in the USA. He found so many doctors and he emailed a few doctors but the only reply he got was from Dr. John Reinisch. My husband was really touched that a doctor like Dr John, who is always busy with surgeries and consultations, took a little time to reply to a person he didn’t even know and lived in the other part of the world.  We are thankful for having Dr. John as our son’s surgeon, who shows not only his professional expertise but also his kindness and genuine care. Dr. John gave not only Ryan a smile but all my family a smile and a relief.

"Dr. Reinisch and his staff were nothing short of amazing. I am still thankful on a daily basis for the loving and professional care my daughter was given. It's not the times that I don't remember her hemangioma, but the times that I do that bring tears to my eyes.  I look at the little white line across her cheek and think what could have been there today if we hadn't done the surgery.. . I really couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable, friendly, loving and kind doctor and staff. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

"Every time I look at my son I think of you [Dr. Reinisch].  I want to take a moment to thank you so much for what you did for Blake.  He looks absolutely amazing and you have changed his life!  For ten hours my son was in your care, and I waited outside as you performed a miracle.  I don't know exactly what challenges you faced in there, but I know the result of your incredible work that day.  You are blessed with an amazing gift and you are a wonderful man for all you do and all the time you spend to help others.  It was a long road for the both of us and finding you was the best thing that could have happened.  We wish you continued success and hope that many blessings come back to you.   You will always be in our hearts."
